Barbie: 1986 Jewel Secrets Whitney

 

1986 Jewel Secrets Whitney is a stunning doll. 

I never had the Jewel Secrets range as a kid, no idea why. Something else must have been the thing that year (Maybe She-Ra) 

I managed to get this Whitney from a friend in the USA for a great price. 

She came without any clothes but she suits this 80's outfit perfectly. 

Her hair was a birds nest when she arrived so I am quite happy how it turned out. 

Barbie: Dream date P.J. wearing Fashion Fantasy (1982)

Dream Date P.J. has always been a favourite. I got her MIB when I last collected and she is always one that was HARD to sell on. 

I love how dreamy she looks and her hair colour is perfect. 

A friend in the USA helped me get this lovely P.J. She was a bit of a mess but cleaned up nicely. My friend even had her original outfit which she surprised me with. 

Her original outfit is a bit flouncy so I currently have her displayed in a 1982 Fashion Fantasy outfit, which was also a gift from a great seller. It was mint on card. 

Shoes are Dolls of the World Korean Barbie's. 

Barbie: California Dream Midge (1987)

 

California Dream Midge is a delight. 

I had her originally when I last collected. I left her with my niece when I stopped collecting for 8 years. 

We found my original in my sisters attic but she had sadly had her bangs cut by my niece and she didn't have any clothes. 

I kept her for a while but a USA pal found me this one one for $25 and then I sold my haircut one on UK eBay for £30 so it worked out perfectly. 

I do love a Steffie face and she has auburn hair, freckles and green eyes. What's not to love.  

Sadly this doll has the legs that mottle as a lot did from this specific time period due to how they where manufactured.

Fashion Photo P.J. was a must have as a fan of the Steffie mold. 

I never had the original of this doll and this face screening is a little gentler than the original. 

She is quite dramatic on display. 

When she was on sale I got a 2nd one just for wearing era fashions. 

My initials are also P.J. 

Masters of the Universe Princess of Power She-Ra

Barbie as She-Ra! I had to get this doll. 

I LOVED She-Ra as a kid, I collected all the action figures and always dreamed of a fashion doll sized version. 

She's designed by the great Bill Greening, who also designed the Golden Dream Christie Reproduction. 

I like that she is a mix of the original version with some Filmation mixed in.

Golden Dream Christie is one of my newest dolls so she's first up. 

I adore a Steffie face so I had to get her. I think I managed to get the last UK one as she was sold out after I got her. 

I had the original girl back when I collected from 2001-2012 but sold her when I sold everything. She's here on my old blog

I'll not do much with her as her hair is HUGE. I have seen people do some lovely things but with only having one, I will keep her mint.
